Bartercard Surrey Storm is delighted to announce the signing of Sienna Rushton, former Goal Shooter for Leeds Rhinos, to join the team for the rest of the season.
Rushton’s first appearance for the team will be this Saturday, May 6th, against Team Bath, in front of the home fans at Surrey Sports Park.
Sienna Rushton is a young talent with experience in the NSL with Wasps and Leeds, as well as previously being selected for the U21 England squad. With her strong presence on the court, Rushton brings a new dynamic to the team and will no doubt make a valuable contribution to the rest of the season.
Rushton expressed her excitement for joining the team, stating, “I am thrilled to be joining Surrey Storm, I can’t wait to get back on the court and in training. Storm have done so well this season and I feel privileged to be a part of the club and hopefully contribute to some of that success.”
Head Coach Mikki Austin expressed her enthusiasm for the new addition to the team, saying, “We are excited to welcome Sienna into the Surrey Storm family for the remainder of the 2023 season, Sienna is a shooter with previous NSL experience along with some partnerships already formed with our current players at England and Wasps Netball.
At such a critical part of our season, it’s imperative to have a person who aligns with our values and the direction of travel we are continuing to build here at Storm, Sienna is a hardworking, humble and gritty athlete who will add masses of value to the final stages of our NSL campaign.”
